The following students are giving an update of what they are doing and learning in school.                                                                      

 

Daycare

We paint and have lunch.  We look at books and play with toys then we go home.                                                                                     Reported by Sara Sekander

PPCD

We are learning about community helpers, the changes in seasons and how plants grow and change.  This is going to be a great month!        Reported by Carolyne Burns

 

Mrs. Milek’s Pre-Kindergarten Class

There is a morning Pre-K and an afternoon Pre-K, both classes are doing the following:

 

We have finished all of our letters.  We are counting to 100.  We are sounding out words using the first letter.  We are going to Inflatable Fun Land for our field trip.  We enjoy listening to information books.  We are observing changes in the weather.

 

A.M. Class

I like to play with the doll house in centers.  In P.E., I like to play freeze tag.  I like to do the news time because I love to tell what I did.  I love to read books.  I liked the book Just Go to Bed.  My favorite song is “5 Cookie Snowballs”.  I want to be a Pre-K teacher when I grow up.  On the playground, I pretend to be a princess.  Monsters try to catch me.  My friends save me.  I love to eat chicken nuggets in the cafeteria.

P.M. Class

I like to play “Minnows, Minnows cross the Sea” in P.E.  On the playground I like to slide.  I like to have the job of newsperson because it is fun to tell events.  I like to do Lego’s in the centers.  I like to sing “Peanut Butter” in class.  I like to eat pizza in the cafeteria.  One of my favorite books is Veggie Tales.  When I grow up I will be Spiderman.

Mrs. Evan’s Kindergarten Class

My job is to do my books, my reading and my homework.  Also, I do a lot of coloring.  I like to play on the playground.  My favorite activity is to make things in Art class.                                                                                                       Reported by Emily Stuckly

Mrs. Gilley’s Kindergarten Class

We are doing a lot of math in class.  We run laps in gym.  We play with Play Dough in Art. We learn new words in Spanish class.              Reported by Haley Brown

 

Mrs. Maughan’s Kindergarten Class

In P.E. we are playing “Sharks and Minnows”.  In Art we are “Free Drawing”.  We played games in computers.  We play bingo in Spanish.  In class I like to learn about words and go outside.                                                  Reported by Raeanna Riley

 

Mrs. Diab’s First Grade Class

We are studying about seeds in science.  We have frog eggs in our classroom.  We hope they will turn into tadpoles.  We get to play a math/baseball game in computers.                                                                                                   Reported by Bailey Smotek

Mrs. Frei’s First Grade Class

We have eggs in an incubator.  We are excited about them hatching.  We are getting a lot of Accelerated Reading points.  I like to be Student of the Week.  I love picking up pecans on the playground.  We jumped rope in P.E. for Jump Rope for Heart.  We are learning a dance in Spanish.  I like playing on the computers.                                                                                                                                  Reported by Sienna Taylor

Mrs. Lum’s First Grade Class

We are learning about insects in Science and we made a spring garden pop-out book.  We have been learning about regrouping (carrying) in math and perimeter.  We are taking achievement tests.  In P.E. we are exercising.  In Spanish we are learning to dance with partners to a Spanish song.  We have been reading a lot of Accelerated Reading books in class.                                                                                    Reported by Garrett Kurtz

 

Mrs. Doskocil’s Second Grade Class

We are adding and subtracting a lot of money in Math.  We learned how to divide and write checks.  We read a story called “Wednesday Surprise”.  We are reading about Fossils and learning how fossils get made.  Fossils are made of stone.  In computers we play math baseball and I got all the way to 200.  We did a fitness test where you run back and forth in P.E.  Mrs. Doskocil makes us write everything in cursive now so I like that.                                                                                                 Reported by Keeley Caples

 

Mrs. Johnson’s Second Grade Class

We are learning multiple meaning words like tip.  We did testing in booklets.  We are doing new CD’s in computers.  I got to bring my hamster, Butterscotch, to school.                                                                                                   Reported by Zoe Spinn

 

Mrs. Ramthun’s Second Grade Class

We have been running and take tests in P.E.  In Math we have been learning about fractions, Roman Numerals and how to find missing addends.  I like to play games in Computers class.                                                       Reported by Austen Marwitz

 

 

 

Mrs. Isbel’s Third Grade Class

We are reading “Super Fudge”.  We took a test in P.E.  We are learning shapes in Spanish.  We are getting ready for the Math TAKS test.  In P.E. we jumped rope for Jump Rope for Heart.                                                     Reported by Lorenzo Minor

 

Mrs. Marshall’s Third Grade Class

Mrs. Moon’s Third Grade Class

We are reading Matilda in Reading.  We are practicing for Math TAKS test.  In Science we are learning parts of plants.  In Art we made Valentines and Easter pictures.  In P.E., we are running and exercising.                            Reported by Crystal Williams

 

Mrs. Allen Fourth Grade Class

We are doing daily warm ups in Reading.  We are getting ready for the Math TAKS test.  We are practicing for the fitness test in P.E.  In Band, we are playing new songs with our recorders.                                                              Reported by Gabrielle Morgan

Mrs. Chaney’s Fifth Grade Class

We are learning about geometry and are doing TAKS practice test in Math.  We are reading a book called “A Wrinkle in Time” in Reading.  In Science we are learning about producers and consumers.  We are doing the marathon and fitness test in P.E.  We are doing stuff with rotations in Art.  We are playing our instruments in Band.                                                                                                                         Reported by Wesley Weir

Mrs. Lynn’s Fifth Grade Class

We are doing a fitness test in P.E.  In Art we are doing self portraits and in Language Arts we are reading A Wrinkle in Time.  We are learning about photosynthesis in Science.  We are getting ready for the Math TAKS test.  We are playing our flutes and other instruments in Band.                                          Reported by Makenzie Wiley

 

Mrs. Malone’s Fifth Grade Class

We have been going over everything we learned for Math TAKS.  In Science we have been learning about plants, bugs, and animals.  In Language Arts we have been reading A Wrinkle in Time.  In P.E. we have been doing fitness tests.  Also, in Art we are making a design with shapes while moving the shape in a rotation.  In Band we learned different notes on our instruments.                                         Reported by Jessica Maughan

Tips to Prevent Flu and Colds

  1. Wash hands after using the bathroom.
  2. Wash hands after coughing.
  3. Cover mouth with hands when coughing.
  4. Never drink after someone.
  5. Never put anything in mouth after someone else has (suckers, barrettes, pencils, paper clips, toys, money, etc.)
  6. Keep toothbrushes separated.
  7. Change toothbrush after each cold or every two months.
  8. Never sneeze into your hands; example sneeze on your shoulder.
  9. Rub your eye with your knuckle, not your finger.
  10. Always wash your hands with soap and water.
  11. Never put your mouth on the spout of a water fountain.
  12. Always use your own fork or glass.
  13. Wash a cut or scrape with soap and water.  Cover with a clean bandage.

 

Children should be kept home for 24 hours if they have had a fever over 100.4 degrees or vomiting.

After 500 box tops collected a party is earned.

The class with the most labels collected at the end of the year will get to choose classroom supplies from Campbell’s catalog.
